Gregory W. CavaPresident and CEO
Greg Cava’s extensive career began in pricing and account management for Santa Fe Railroad. Greg expanded his operational and account management expertise when he was recruited by a national trucking company. Greg advanced rapidly through the organization and was appointed Vice President of Sales and Marketing for one of the carriers in The Sun Carrier Group (a Division of Sun Oil).
Greg’s rail and over-the-road management experience, which included operations, finance, and marketing responsibility, was recognized, and he was later recruited by a third-party, asset-based warehousing and distribution company as their Vice President. Greg’s responsibility encompassed operations (managing distribution centers), along with overseeing their private fleet. Greg’s over all transportation, warehousing and fleet management expertise was the catalyst in opening his own third party warehousing and distribution company (which he co-founded with Jim Cava). Greg was the company’s President and CEO for 14 years before selling to a large competitor 2001.
After the sale of their asset-based 3PL company in 2001, Greg accepted an appointment as President and Chief Operating Officer to restructure an asset-based 3PL Company. This company specialized in warehousing, clean room rigging, and the transporting of high-value products (i.e., $300 million dollar space satellites, high-tech equipment, etc.). The experience with the high-tech, high value logistics company provided Greg a unique insight into another segment of the specialized supply chain industry. It also broadened his experience in ocean, air charters/air freight, and specialized material handling equipment for high value product. Under Greg’s leadership, the company expanded its global footprint by opening offices in Taiwan and Mainland China to better serve the company’s Asian customer base.
Once Greg’s assignment to restructure the company was successfully completed, in 2005 Greg (and Jim Cava) founded Global Reach logistics, a full service 3PL and consulting company, serving as the company’s President and CEO.
Greg’s trade association memberships include Warehousing Education & Logistics Council; CSCMP; past Regional Director (for California) of the American Trucking Association; National Confectionery Logistics Council.
